The Harrowing Alexandra Sokoloff

I have a pretty vivid imagination, so horror is not exactly my cup of tea. For example, I was not in the audience for "Reservoir Dogs", "Hellraiser" or "Saw". I wouldn’t have been able to sleep at night. However, I can and have enjoyed movies like "Shaun of the Dead", "Dracula" and "From Dusk 'til Dawn". I don't need the real gore or the philosophy of evil to be thrilled. I just want a great story told well.

Sometimes, knowing the author personally can give you insight; When you know the person that 'did the thing' you can kind of tell what it's going to be like... or they can just tell you you're too much of a baby for it. Alex said she wouldn't hurt me. I trust her. Forewarned is forearmed so I bought ‘The Harrowing’, stiff-upper-lipped it and was simply unable to put the book down!
In the beginning I was a bit fearful, not knowing just how scary she would whip it but she did not disappoint. From the first page I was on a roller coaster ride! Sometimes holding on around blind curves, turning the page and being slammed back in my seat all the while looking over my shoulder to be sure I wasn’t followed. It got pretty hairy there – more than once I thought everything was going to explode! You have got to read it!

Alexandra Sokoloff is one of those writers - gentle person with a poison pen. She has a powerful ability to transport you to another world with her fluid writer's voice. She is such a cool person!
You owe it to yourself to check out her website.

Listen, if I can take it, so can you!
